About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Short layover on flight home

Hi,
I’m arriving from Hong Kong and landing in shanghai and departing from shanghai on my back to the US. about, my flight from Shanghai-JFK stops in Beijing for a few hours. Does that layover disqualify me from using the 72 hour free travel?

That layover will disqualify you from using the 72/144-hr visa free transit, although 24-hour visa free transit still applies.
