Toronto to Manila via Shanghai

Hello, I flying Toronto to SH (Air Canada) then SH to Manila (Air Philippines). There is a 25 hr layover in SH. I was hoping to leave the airport and go sightseeing. Since this is over 24 hrs, am I eligible for the 72-hr visa-free transit?
