About:144-Hour Visa-Free Transit

visa waiver for cruise passengers

I am getting conflicting information so I would appreciate if someone could confirm.
We are disembarking our cruise in Shanghai and having a two night stop over before flying
back to the UK via a transit in Istanbul, we embark the boat in Singapore.
We are both UK passport holders therefore do we qualify for the visa waiver programme?
Many thanks

Visa waiver program applies to you because country coming into shanghai is different to country to visit after Shanghai.
