4 hour transit in Shenzhen

Hello,

I'm flying to S. Korea via China from Australia. I'm a US citizen. My flights will be Sydney to Shenzhen, Shenzhen to Beijing, & Beijing to Seoul. I have a 4-hour long layover in Shenzhen. Do I need a transit visa for this flight?
