About:144-Hour Visa-Free Transit

US-PEK-BKK

Hi. If I am a U.S. passport holder flying to PEK(once the 144 hour free transit goes into effect there) directly from the U.S. And have a confirmed ticket a few days later out of PEK either to Thailand or Laos. Do I qualify for the 144 hour free transit? Thank you.

Hi, there is no 144 hour free transit in Beijing, so you cannot use the policy in there. You are advised to apply for a visa for that.

This guide states that Beijing will have this visa available by the end of 2017. My question indicated I am aware it's not there now but will be eventually so I repeat my question. When it becomes available in Beijing will my itinerary be eligible for the 144 hour free transit??
