does it need visa going to kathmandu via Hong Kong with connecting flight?

Hi
I am Nepalese citizen. now I am resident in United Kingdom. I would like to travel with cathay pacific via HK. Do i need a visa for connection flight going to Kathmandu via HK?

If you will only take a transfer at HKIA to catch the onward flight, there is no need to go through the immigration. Therefore, you don't need to hold a visa. But if you wil go into the city, a visa is needed and it is best to apply in advance.
