About:24-Hour Visa-Free Transit

I am a Philippine passport holder. I will be traveling to the US via Shanghai. Do I need a Visa?

Manila to Shanghai via China Southern flight. (airline told me I have to retrieve my luggage and transfer to a different terminal to check in for US flight, which is leaving 3 hours later.

Shanghai to San Francisco via United Airlines

I travel the same way back.

Angelo, you are able to use 24 hour direct transit in Shanghai, and no visa is required then. You can also use the 24 hour policy in Shanghai if your layover time in there is within 24 hours on the way back.
