You have to be married for that because the valid marriage certificate is necessary for the application.

What entry permit would be best for me? My partner has been offered a good job in China with paid accommodation, will be payed in USD ( enough to support 3 people ) I would like to live there permanently with my partner but am unsure as to what visa is best now

If so, it's possible for you to get an S1 type for that. Your birth certificate will be required then.
