Do I need to claim my luggage in Shanghai?

Hi,

I am traveling from New York to Bangkok with a 16 hour layover in Shanghai. I plan to spend about 12 hours sightseeing in Shanghai. Do I need to claim my luggage at the Shanghai airport, or can I just leave it with the airline as I would do on a normal layover?

Hi, you are advised to contact with the airlines to confirm if you need to collect your luggage. If it is delivered to the final destination directly, there is no need to collect the luggage. Nice trip!
