About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Check of route for Transit visa

Flight route check for Transit visa
My itinerary is as follows -

UK-Amsterdam- Shanghai- Taipei (I have around 70 hours in Shanghai)
Return - Taipei-Beijing-Paris- UK (I have around 60 hours in Beijing)

My questions are -
Is Taiwan definitely classed as a 3rd country for the purpose of free transit ?
Does the fact that I fly from and to my home nation (UK) via another country have any impact on using the free transit ?

thanks

Your route is fine. Chinese immigration will only look at the flight that brings you into China, and the flight that takes you out. All other flights on your itinerary aren't relevant for free transit.

Thanks- so Taiwan is definitely classed as a third country, not part of China? (my travel agent said it was a 'grey area')

Yes, it definitely is. Your travel agent is incompetent.
