S2 visa conditions

Hi, been told I can apply for an S2 type, but also told that I cannot if I have ever spent more than 7 days in a turkey. Is this correct? (And our of interest, why?) I spent 11 days in 2011 and have a stamp in my passport so they would know I have been.

Hi, I’m afraid it is rather difficult for you to get S2 type from Turkey because temporary visitors in there are usually advised to make the application in their home country. But if you have residence permit or valid visa for Turkey, and you have stayed there for more than 6 months, it's possible for you to make the application from there.

Hi Tony, there’s some confusion I think. I’m not in Turkey. I will be applying from Hong Kong and I am British. My question was that i had been told to apply for an s2 I was not allowed to have ever been to turkey for longer than 7 days and I was asking about this. Thanks

Hi, I haven't heard that. You are advised to call the office of the commissioner of the ministry of foreign affairs of PRC in HK SAR to inquire this, and the Tel is 852—34132300.
