VOA in Shenzhen and Shanghai

Hi,
I land in HK and then need to visit Shenzhen 2 days and then fly back from HK to Shanghai where I also need to stay a short time. Can I use VOA or 72 hr. visa services for that? I think so, but would it create confusion if my departure ticket shows HK-SHA?
Any suggestions?

If your itinerary is HK-Shenzhen (VOA)-HK-Shanghai-a third country then you can use both the Shenzhen VOA and the 144-hour visa free transit in Shanghai. Keep in mind that you cannot fly from Shenzhen to Shanghai, or returning to Hong Kong after you have visited Shanghai.
