About:24-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Guangzhou confusion

I have an Indian passport and would like to use the 14 hours I have transiting in Guangzhou, in exploring the city. But there seems to be some confusing information about Guangzhou allowing or not allowing 24 hr transit. I have complete onward ticket to sfo. Will I be able to go out of the airport using the 24 hour provision in Guangzhou?

There is a new rule which prohibits passengers transiting in Guangzhou to leave the sterile transit zone if their transit time is under 24 hours. Hence you are not able to go out of the airport using the 24 hour provision in Guangzhou. You are supposed to apply for a visa beforehand if you want to leave the airport.
