Transit VISA in Shanghai Pu Dong

Hi,
I am an Indian Citizen living in United State on Green Card. I am travelling New York to Shanghai to New Delhi. I have 18 hours stop time in Shanghai and want to stay outside airport in some hotel. Do I need a visa or I can request temporary stay permit for this time.

Hi, you can make use of 24 hour direct transit in Shanghai, and you can request temporary stay permit at the Shanghai airport for this time. Nice trip!

Hi just to add the question, does the 24 hour applicable for all citizens? Am an indonesian citizen, and I will be transiting in beijing but change airlines to go back home..can i take the 24 hour direct transit just to come out and take my luggage then check in again for my next flight? It will not exceeds the 24 hour time..thanks for info

Indonesian citizens are applicable for the 24 hour direct transit. No need to worry!
