Train tickets hong kong to guangzhou

Hi to

we are travelling to Guangzhou on 11th December from uk to meet my son who works there for 6 days. we are flying into hong kong and getting a train to Guangzhou. Will we have to pre-book the train ticket for our tourist visa?
