Flying to Australia but layover in Qingdao airport

I’m flying to Australia but I have a layover in Qingdao airport. When and where do I apply for the 72hour free transit stay? Because the airport will close during my layover

Rodney, when you board the flight, you need to inform the airlines that you want to use the free transit in Qingdao. After arriving at the airport, you can go to the transit counter to apply for the free transit. The airport will be open for your flight, and don't worry!
