About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

Landing in Shanghai from Thailand and go back to Thailand

Hello together,
I am planning to go in November to Shanghai from Krabi to visit a friend of mine in Shanghai. I will only stay in Shanghai and will leave Shanghai in less than 72h back to Thailand - either back to Krabi or to Bangkok.
Possible for me to apply for the 72h free transit on the airport?
Thanks for your effort and help here!!!

Greetings Armin

You have to be in transit to get the 72 hours visa-free transit. Thailand-China-Thailand isn't a transit so obviously you don't qualify. You need a visa or you need to change your flight plans.
