Maximum allowed time for connection at PEK

Hi, what is the maximum time for a connecting flight? For example, we arrive in Beijing at 11:45pm, and then depart the next day at 09:30am - if our luggage is checked through to our ongoing destination (the 9:30am flight), is 9 hours okay for the luggage to be transferred? Our do we have to go through customs, collect our luggage, and check-in again?
