About:24-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Do I require a visa for a 7 hour stop over

We have South African Passports and Dutch Residency permits, will we be able to get an entry permit in Shanghai to walk around the city for a couple of hours? Can we get this at the airport?

Hi, you don't need a visa if you will go to a third country or region different from the last one you come from after transiting in Shanghai. Apply for a free temporary stay permit at the immigration office when you arrive at the airport, then you can leave there to explore the city.
