About:Transfer in T3 of Beijing Capital Airport

Flying by AC from YVR to PEK (terminal 3) and to BKK by TG. Transit time 12 hours. Do I need visa?

What to do If planning to go out to shopping? Do I need to claim my baggage and re check in?

No, u don't need a visa. Since you wanna leave the airport, do fill in the disembarkation card on plane before landing. Then apply for a stay permit at the immigration to get out, because you are eligible for 24h visa-free transit.

You don't need to reclaim the luggage, but obviously rechecking in is needed.
