Accommodation registration

My papers and passport are currently in PSB for the residence permit process, and I'll get my residence permit in a few weeks. However, during this processing time my original X type (30 days) expired, and so did my "accommodation registration" I did at the local police station. So they actually called me from the police station informing me that my registration expired, and told me to come to re-register. I tried to explain them that my passport is still in PSB for residence permit processing so I can't do that. However I'm not sure they understood. Will this cause me any problems, as I currently don't have valid visa or registration? I'd think it should okay, because they are currently making my residence permit, but I want to make sure. No one seems to know for sure.
