About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Do I need a visa for a 12 hour lay over in beijing for a connecting flight

We would be arrriving from thailand but are both canadian citizens

You don't need a visa as long as you are connecting to a non-stop flight to a third country (not Thailand and not China).
