Is this eligible for 72-hour Visa-Free Transit?

Australian passport travelling MNL-PVG-LAX but travelling the the MNL-PVG leg and PVG-LAX leg with different airlines. Is this eligible for 72-hour Free Transit?

Joe, yes, this is still eligible for the 72 hour free transit. Different airlines are fine.
