About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

Denied 24 or 72 hour visa entry

i had a 19 hour transit in GZ. I am Canadian and have had previous VOAs (from Shenzhen). This time i was not granted an entry permit and was only told visas are "limited".

Why would i not be granted an entry permit despite meeting all the qualifications?

Feel sorry for what happened to you, but sometimes, the consular officers may deny the application without giving any reasons. What one can do is to wait and try again.

Immigration at GZ will not issue an entry permit to those with layovers shorter than 24 hours. This has been the norm since late August.
