About:China Visa on Arrival

VOA for attending scientific conference

I'm an Indian national and have to travel to china in the next week to Beijing for a scientific meeting. Since my passports are stuck in the Canadian high commission for another stamping and are likely to arrive on the day of my travel, so i have no time for applying for the chinese VISA. Since all my china travel is booked, can i still travel to china and apply for VOA at Beijing? I have the invitation form the organizers and all other confirmation bookings. Would i require anything else?

You'll have no chance of getting a VOA if you do not have a visa pre-approval letter from the local immigration office.
