About:24-Hour Visa-Free Transit

I’m travelling to India from San Fransisco to Kolkata via Kunming

Hi
I’m travelling to kolkata from san frasisco via Kunming which has a layover of 10 hr do I need transit Visa for this ? I m really confused

Hi Zac OR ANY ONE KNOWLEDGABLE - I am also looking at same clarification, planning to travel from Chicago to New Delhi by China Eastern Airlines where there is a flight change at Shanghai requiring just less than 24 hours transit stay. My worry-1. Do i need a visa?, 2 If not would i be able to go round the city? Can you or any one clarify.

You do not if your total time spent in China is less than 24 hours. As Shanghai-kunming is a domestic flight, you'll need to clear immigration and customs in Shanghai, so you are allowed to leave the airport.
