clear custom when transit from international to international?

Question

I will be arriving from Canada at PVG terminal 2 and need to transfer to T1 to catch a flight to Bangkok. Do I need to remove my luggage and clear custom when arriving?

If you are flying with Swiss International Air Lines, Virgin Atlantic Airways, Air New Zealand and Deutsche Lufthansa, there is no need to reclaim baggage. Otherwise, you have to collect your luggage. And as i know, all international transfer passengers have to clear customs.
