Question

I changed my job in July and hated it.  I found a new job, handed in my notice but i changed my mind at the eleventh hour.  I withdrew my notice and stuck with the hated job as it was more money, less travel and better hours.  2 weeks ago I got a corneal ulcer and was blinded in my right eye - I am receiving treatment but I am off work, unpaid (as I am still on probation).  Will my luck start to change around now - will I come into a windfall to help me while I'm not earning and will i make a recovery soon?  Feel like I'm being punished - because I should have taken  the risk and just taken the new job maybe?
