About:China Transit Visa

Do I still need to apply for visa on arrival?

Hi I have Indian passport and Canadian Resident Card, I am flying from Vancouver to New Delhi and I have 21 hour layover Shanghai. Airline is offering STPC so I get to go to the hotel to have some rest so I still need to get VOA ? Thanks

Hi, you are eligible for the 24 hour direct transit in Shanghai, no visa is required for that then. But you need to apply for a free temporary stay permit at the immigration office when you arrive at the airport, then you can leave there to get a rest at the hotel.
