About:How to Travel to China without a Visa

Party of four traveling through Shanghai to Kuala Lumpur and staying less than 24 hours

Do I have to do any advance applications for a 24 or 72 hour free transit? Or is all of this dealt with at the airport? I am part of a party of four people traveling to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and will be spending one night in Shanghai in November.

Peter, you can enjoy 24 hr direct transit in Shanghai, and you can go there directly by bringing your passport, the return or onward ticket and enough travel fees. There's no need to notify the carrier in advance as the documents will only be verified at the check-in.
