About:Forbidden City

Ticket windows of Forbidden City

1) Is it still possible to buy the ticket on site?
What time should I be there 8:00 or earlier?

I was planing to go there september 29 or october 1.
and go 30-1 to jiankou.

2) do you think there is a big difference of the crowd? Or it will anyway be 80'000...

No, all tickets have to be booked online. It will be very crowded on Oct. 1, so just go on Sep. 29.

In common days, the number limit is 80,000, but maybe much less people visit, while on Oct. 1, it will be 80,000. So the situation can be different.

This is not true. I visited 28th Sept and bought a ticket on site. I observed many visitors doing the same.

I’m sorry, yes, you can still buy tickets on site now. But according to former news, all tickets can be only got online since this July. Maybe there is something wrong when it’s carried out. But online ticketing for all visitors will be the tendency.
