Do I need a visa with European passport?

I will be travelling from Vienna to New Zealand with a layover of 7 hours 25 minutes in Shanghai in November. I will be staying in the airport.

Carmen, you don’t need a visa for you are eligible for the 24 hour direct transit in Shanghai if you travel like that. Nice trip!
