About:China Transit Visa

Do I need transit visa for Singapore-Shanghai-Canada/Canada -Shanghai-Singapore?

I am a Philippine Passport Holder. Travelling from Singapore to Shanghai then to Canada for a visit and come back from Canada to Shanghai then to Singapore. I will have 5 to 6 hours layover each flight and might decide to go out for a quick look of China. Do I need a visa?

Kash, you don’t need it for you are eligible for the 24 hour direct transit in Shanghai in both ways. But you need to apply for a free temporary stay permit at the immigration office when you arrive at the airport for that. Nice trip!
