indian passport holders for 24 hour visa

Question

My parents are Indian passport holders. They will be travelling to India via Beijing on China Airlines from USA. They have a 16 hour layover in Beijing. I was wondering if they qualify to get the 24 hour direct Transit and where will they get it? Can they apply and get it in Beijing so they can step out side , tour the city and then take the flight to India? Thanks for your help....

Hi, they will qualify for the 24 hour direct transit in Beijing and they can get it after arrival. They need to apply for a free temporary stay permit at the immigration office at the Beijing airport to explore the city. Nice trip!
