About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

U.S. --> Thailand --> Beijing (less than 72 hrs). Beijing --> Vietnam --> Beijing --> U.S. (24-hr)

Background: I'm U.S citizen with U.S passport.

1. I'll be on the tour from U.S to Thailand and Beijing back home to the U.S. I'll be staying in Beijing less than 72 hours. Per the tour agency, I'll be using 72-hr free transit. Hence, there is no China visa needed.

2. I would like to plan with the following changes to my tour.
Instead of going back home to the U.S. from Beijing on 12/3/2017, I wanted to fly out earlier from Beijing to another country - Vietnam on 12/1/2017. Then, I'll travel back from Vietnam to Beijing on 12/21/2017 and Beijing back home to the U.S. on the same day 12/21/2017.

Could you please help to double confirm if I could claim the 24-hour direct transit? This would help me to finalize my travel plan.

You can enjoy the free transit if you travel like that. If you are worried, you can call your airline to confirm this.
