About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Can Indonesian citizen eligible to 72 hours free transit?

Hi, I'm planning to fly to Chicago via PVG airport. I will arrive at midnight and having next flight at 3pm on the next day (approx. 15 hours lay over time). Do I need visa to stay in transit hotel at airport? Thanks.

Hi, you cannot qualify for the 72 hour free transit, but as you just transit for 15 hours, you can use 24 hr direct transit in Shanghai. You may be required to apply for a free temporary stay permit at the immigration office when you arrive at the airport. Afterwards, you can leave the airport to stay at the hotel.
