Thanks for the terrific information.My girlfriend is an Indonesian citizen and not eligible for the 72 hour visa free transit. Nonetheless, we have a long layover in Guangzhau and would like to rest in a hotel for 12 hours before our next flight. Is this allowed for her?

Hi, Dino, if your girlfriend qualifies for the 24 hour direct transit in Guangzhou, she can apply for a temporary stay permit at the airport upon arrival. Then she can stay at a hotel for rest.
