There are many things to do in Beijing. As you have such a long time, I suggest you also spend some time in Tianjin. Here is the general itinerary for your reference:
Oct. 17: Forbidden City - Tiananmen Square - Beihai Park
Oct. 18: Badaling Great Wall - Ming Tombs
Oct. 19: Temple of Heaven - Summer Palace - Wangfujing Pedestrian Street
Oct. 20: Yonghegong Lamasery - Bird Nest & Water Cube
Oct. 21: Ancient Cultural Street - Tainjin Eye
Oct. 22: Mt. Panshan Scenic Area - Italian Style Street
Oct. 23: Hutong Tours in Beijing and leave
