About:China Transit Visa

Exit. Does the rules still apply if you are leaving China but going through a different city?

For example if your working Z type has expired but you're transiting through Shanghai to exit China within 72 hours?

Any help would be much appreciated

No, you cannot use the free transit facility if you travel like that.
