where to buy entrance tickets for forbiden citythe best entrance?

Staying in Hotel Kapok - Forbidden City located at 16 Donghuamen Street Beijing.Planning to visit the Tiananmen Square and then Forbidden City on foot.  What is the closest selling point for entrance tickets and which of all entrances is less crowded?  Thanks.

As I know, all the ticket offices don’t sell the tickets, and they only provide online booking, so you are suggested to go to the official site to buy the ticket in advance.Sorry to tell you, since it’s in the peak season, all the entrances are full of people, and you can enter from Meridian Gate, because it’s the nearest one from Tiananmen Square.
