How do you get from Zhangye to the Rainbow Mountains?

At local West Bus Station, you can take the coach for Sunan and ask the driver to drop you off on the way at the Rainbow Mountains. Or you can take a taxi or rent a private car for a round trip, for which the fare is CNY150-200.
