Phuket to NY stop in Beijing

We are going home (US citizens) from Phuket via BJ with long layover so we can see The Great Wall. The layover is 15hrs. So we do NOT need visas, correct?

Yes, you don’t need a visa. But notice you need to inform your airline you want to use the 72-hour stay permit when boarding, and you will fill a document on the flight, after arrival, you can apply for the permit.
