About:Packing Tips for Traveling China

Are there any medicines or ingredients in medication that are prohibited in China?

I have heard that Codeine is not allowed in South Korea, does this apply in China as well?

Codeine is forbidden to take in. But if you need to bring medicine with Codeine for pain control, you need to prepare related medical certificate and your personal passport when you pass the custom.

Thank you Lilian for the reply! Is there anything else that is forbidden to take to China? And is there anything you would recommend I definitely take with me? I know that it is recommended to take deodorant/ roll on and tampons but anything else?

Well, generally speaking, Poison and addictive drugs are not allowed. The forbidden items also include food, drugs or other things that could do harm to humans and animals, and are infectious or from epidemic areas. For more information about prohibited items, you can look through the webpage of this website. In addition, if you wanna bring other kinds of medicines, it depends on the medicine kind and amount. Don't bring too much. And you have to declare them.

Thanks so much! Will look through the site! Do you need to keep the medication in your hand luggage or put it in your main luggage?
