About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

23 hrs transit

HI,

I am Trinidad and Tobago National, travelling from DXB to LAX, flight connects in PEK with 23 hr layover.
Will I qualify for the 72 hour free transit. I have confirmed ticket and hotel booking.

Ali, no, you won’t qualify for the 72 hour free transit facility because of your nationality, but you can use the 24 hour direct transit. No need to apply for a visa then.

But 24 direct transit would mean that I would have to stay at the airport right? Remember my plan was to overnight at the hotel. In that case I would I need a visa

You may be required to apply for a free temporary stay permit at the immigration office when you arrive at the airport. Afterwards, you can leave the airport. No need to worry!

Is a temporary stay permit easy to access and how long might it take to process? If its easy I wont mind,else I'll just apply for the visa

Usually, it's easy to get the temporary stay permit, and you can get the result within ten minutes if only few people are waiting there.
