About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Multiple stops

I am planning to travel to Macau from Japan.

But first I want to travel to shengyang and stay there for 72 hrs or less and then go to Macau. Then return to Japan where I will need to transfer in shanghai.

Is that fine? Technically it seems so but does china consider Macau as part of the 72 hours even though it allows - long time period?

Philip, you don’t need a visa for that because Japan passport holders can enjoy free entry to mainland China for a stay of not more than 15 days. Don't worry! Nice trip!

I'm sorry Charles, actually I'm a American passport holder. I just live in Japan.

If so, you will qualify for the 72 hour free transit in Shenyang and Shanghai respectively. Macau can be regarded as the third region for that. No need to worry, and have a nice trip!
