About:Beijing Transportation Smart Card

Beijing Transportation Smart Card Discount

If I use the transportation card to pay for Airport Express train and subway do I get a 50% off the fare ?

As I know, there is no discount for subway and Airport Express, but only in bus.

I read from an article that refund for the above card takes 7 days to process. It doesn't make sense to me because this policy won't work for foreigners. Does anyone know if/experience that this piece of information is true ?

The truth is if the balance is within 100RMB, just refund at the Customer Service Center of many metro stations. If the balance is more than 100RMB, you have to go to the dedicated Smart Card Service Office and it may take around a week.

Thank you Edgar. Your answer makes a bit more sense. So the trick is keep the balance below CNY100 and we can get an instant refund at the designated Metro stations, right ?
