About:24-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Transit G type in China 2 stops - Baiyun (CAN) Urumqui(URC)

I am flying with China Southern Airlines from Auckland- New Zealand to Almaty Kazakhstan - 2 stops in China - Baiyun(CAN) -2h10m ; Urumqi(URC) - 7h15 . Do I need transit G type in China?

Inga, you are not eligible for the 24 hour direct transit in China because of your layover in Urumqi. You need to apply for a transit G type for that beforehand.
