Luggage pick up at Beijing

Hi, my husband is Filipino and I am Brazilian and we are planning to go to Mongolia with a connection in China (Beijing) for less than 24 hours. We will have to travel on a different airline towards Mongolia (MIAT Airline) and so, the issue is that we will need to get our bags in BJ Airport. Do we need a visa just to pass through immigration and get our suitcases? Thank you!

Luci, both of you will qualify for the 24 hour direct transit in Beijing. No need to apply for a visa for that. Don't worry!
