How to apply 1 year visa for my Mother inlaw?

Hello,
I'm american. I current living and working in guangzhou for more than 10 years with my family. We have 3 childrens. My wife is vietnamese. We want to invite her mother come to help us with our childrens. How to apply 1 year entry permit for her?

Hank, she needs to provide her passport and its copy, the application form attached with a recently-taken passport-style photo, an invitation letter from you and copies of your passport and residence permit, and your relationship certificate.
Next, she needs to submit the application to the embassy of China to apply for an S1 type.
After she enters China with an S1 type, she can apply for a temporary residence permit to stay with you.
