About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

74 hrs in Shanghai, does 72 hrs free transit apply?

I am arriving in Shanghai on Tuseday 22/8 at 10.05h, leaving again on Friday 25/8 at 12.15h. Do I need to apply for Visa or can I make use of the 72 hr Free transit window?

It depends on your itinerary and your nationality. If you are flying Country A - Shanghai (144 hours) - Country B then you don't need to apply for a visa if you are from one of the qualifying countries.
